I am a mother of 4 children, 3 girls and 1 boy: 16 (yes, she is driving), 13, 8, and 5. My two oldest girls live with their father in McKinney, TX, and are in 11th and 9th grade respectively. My 3rd daughter is in Third Grade this year, and my son just started Kindergarten. I am also blessed with a few "accessory" children - friends of my kids, family members - that are always a blessing in my home. Evey has just completed her Abigail Adams Award from AHG, equivalent to an Eagle Scout, and is getting ready to work towards her Stars & Stripes Award - a 100 Hour minimum, long term impact, community service project. Eden has recently leveled to Pioneer in AHG, and is looking forward to working on her Abigail Adams award as well. Ilyse is a 3rd year Tenderheart. Caleb has just begun his first year as a Fox in TrailLife USA.
I have lived in Texas for 23 years, originally born and raised in Cedar Rapids, IA. I started at System Electric about a month after moving to Texas as a temp answering phones, and been with them ever since. First, as a temp, then on to a jobsite working as purchasing and office assistant. In 2003, I was blessed with an opportunity to take a week long CRASH course on AutoCAD and began working for our Preconstruction Department learning estimating, drawing & blueprint creation, and assisting on my first design/build project of Park Lane Place. Around 2010, (and two children later) I was blessed with another opportunity to move from our CAD/BIM/Precon department into Operations as a Asst. Project Manager. I have been managing Projects ever since all over the DFW Metroplex.
Over the years, I have continued my efforts to extend my skills and certifications, and completed first my LEED Green Associate certification, and then later my LEED AP BD+C. I have been studying to continue my expansion into additional LEED Certifications, and obtaining my PMP certifications as well.
In addition to my job, and my participation in AHG & TrailLife USA troops, supporting my children, I teach occasional lessons at my church on Sunday, am a strong advocate for Domestic Abuse Awareness, and actively participate in maintenance and repair projects out at Camp High Point in my role as Secretary and Logistics Chair for Conifer Area Properties.
